At OverKill, we take your privacy as seriously as you take your exams. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app.

Important: AccessibilityService API Disclosure

OverKill requires the use of the Android AccessibilityService API to provide its core "App Blocker" and "Deep Focus" features.

Why we need this permission: When you start a Focus Session, the Accessibility API is used solely to detect if you attempt to open a blocked distraction app (e.g., Instagram or games). If a blocked app is detected in the foreground, we immediately redirect you back to the OverKill study screen.

Strict Data Guarantee:

We DO NOT collect, store, or transmit your screen content.
We DO NOT read your messages, intercept passwords, or monitor your keyboard input.
We DO NOT share any Accessibility data with third parties.

The API is used locally on your device in real-time strictly to block distracting apps.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect what we absolutely need to provide you with an elite study experience:

Account Information: When you sign in via Google or email, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture.
Study Data: We track your focus session durations, subjects studied, and streaks to populate the leaderboard and gamification engine.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to:

Maintain your study streaks and rank you on the national leaderboard.
Sync your downloaded PDFs and Vault bookmarks across devices.
Improve our ambient audio engine and server stability.

3. Data Sharing & Security

We do not sell your data. Period. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard protocols. We only share data with essential infrastructure providers (like our secure database host) necessary to run the app.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

How to delete your data:

Open the OverKill app.
Go to your Profile Drawer > Settings.
Tap "Delete Account" to permanently wipe your data from our servers.

Alternatively, you can email us at [email protected] with the subject "Data Deletion Request" from your registered email address, and we will process the deletion within 7 days.
